FIFA 18 have released the first batch of player ratings, which sees Monaco striker Radamel Falcao return to the top 100.
With September now in full flow, fans of the EA Sports game only have to wait until later this month to get their hands on the latest edition, which is due for release on September 29.
To whet the appetite, EA Sports have announced the first batch of top 100 players. FIFA 18 showcase the top players in the game, with ratings based on their performances in the last year of football.
Top 100-81 players Player Team Rating 100 Bernando Silva Man City 84 99 Sami Khedira Juventus 84 98 Sadio Mane Liverpool 84 97 Dani Alves PSG 84 96 Marco Asensio Real Madrid 84 95 Falcao Monaco 84 94 Mauro Icardi Inter 84 93 Dele Alli Tottenham 84 92 Bernd Leno Leverkusen 85 91 Claudio Marchisio Juventus 85 90 Stéphane Ruffier Saint-Étienne 85 89 Ilkay Gündoğan Man City 85 88 Danijel Subašić AS Monaco 85 87 Raphaël Varane Real Madrid 85 86 Kamil Glik AS Monaco 85 85 Andrea Barzagli Juventus 85 84 Vincent Kompany Man City 85 83 Henrikh Mkhitaryan Man Utd 85 82 Yannick Carrasco Atletico Madrid 85 81 Marc-André ter Stegen Barcelona 85
Sadio Mane, who has started the season in impressive form for Liverpool, comes in as the 98th best player in the game, which is below Monaco striker Falcao (95th).
The Colombian’s ranking on the game has fluctuated greatly in recent years. On FIFA 13, he was regarded as one of the top strikers in the world with a game rating of 94. However, fast forward four years and the striker was given a score of just 81 for last year’s edition – but his stock is on the rise again after a scintillating campaign for Monaco to the extent that his FIFA 18 rating is now 84, meaning he has broken back into the top 100 players.
Dele Alli is ranked as the game’s 93rd best player, below Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan (89th), who missed half of last season through injury, and Monaco centre-back Kamil Glik (86th).
Mane, Alli and Gundogan are three of six Premier League players that feature in the first batch of top 100 players.
Despite his advancing years Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany (84th) still can mix it with the world’s best, team-mate Bernando Silva (100th) scrapes into the top 100 and Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan (83rd) also makes the cut.
